Personalized AI agents that empower users to manage financial transitions and family stress. Users decide how much authority their AI agent has in decision-making, allowing their agent to communicate with other agents and handle tedious tasks. This is a speculative project that would hypothetically be powered by Fidelity Investments.

PROBLEM
This project was sponsored by Fidelity Investments, a financial services company that helps customers plan and achieve their financial goals. For this project, my class received critiques from the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT), which is a team of experts who explore and test emerging technologies to redefine what’s next for financial services.
Knowledge and wealth transfers are critical trends within Fidelity’s business. However, as financial information and responsibilities move across households and generations, families can experience cognitive overload, uncertainty, and fragmented communication. Without clear systems for collaboration and understanding, these transitions may create stress, confusion, and division between family members.
RESEARCH QUESTION
How might we leverage AI to capture and then move beyond the capabilities of a human representative/financial advisor?
SCENARIO
Scott has recently been appointed as the Power of Attorney (POA) for his mother, Lydia, following his father's passing. While managing his own household finances, Scott must also take on new financial responsibilities for his mother, navigating unfamiliar processes and decisions. At the same time, tension arises with his sister, who expected to be given this role, creating additional strain during an already emotional period.
